Participating Districts

School corporations currently participating in the Indiana State Improvement Grant are:

Anderson Community School Corporation
Fort Wayne Community Schools
Greater Clark County Schools
Greencastle Community School Corporation
Michigan City Area Schools
Northeast School Corporation

Project sites were selected based on an analysis of data including:

1. Graduation rates
2. Student performance on 3rd, 6th and 8th grade ISTEP and performance on the Indiana Graduation Qualifying Exam
3. Special education placement patterns
4. The percentage of the total population of special education students
5. Suspension and expulsion rates

Each district has nominated 3-5 schools to participate in the grant project.  Students across all age groups, including students with disabilities, are included in each district.  These schools mirror the diversity found within the state in terms of geographic representation, size of district, socioeconomic levels and achievement on performance outcomes based on the Indiana State Accountability System for Academic Progress and the special education Continuous Improvement Monitoring process.
